proverbs 14-21

Here are my favorite Proverbs from this past weekend. These are from chapters 14-21. I pray that we all have been getting wisdom from these Words of God.

14:30

“A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones”.

This Proverb connects the dots from envy and peace. It also shows us that envy is a killer of our souls and also our physical bodies.

15:19

“The way of the sluggard is blocked with thorns, but the path of the upright is a highway”

If you lazy, you will never succeed and life will be hard and hurt. If you work hard for God life will be much easier.

16:9

“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps”.

Make all the plans you want, but only God is in control.

17:14

“Starting a quarrel is like breaching a dam; so drop the matter before a dispute breaks out”.

It does not really matter who is right. If you love God, He is always right so let Him settle it rather than prove you are right and cause a flood of problems in your life.

18:13

“To answer before listening-that is folly and shame”.

Digest and take to heart before you try and have a quick response and prove something or answer something that is really not that important.

19:19

“A hot tempered person must pay the penalty; rescue them, and you will have to do it again”.

A fool will always be a fool, so let them be a fool and do not get pulled into their folly and continue to bail them out. Let the matter up to God.

20:23

“The LORD detests differing weights, and dishonest scales do not please Him”.

Honor God in your business practices and honesty.

21:17

“Whoever loves pleasure will become poor, whomever loves wine and olive oil will never be rich”.

Find pleasure in God alone, not in this world because this world is fleeting and will never give you the success you desire. Only God will give you true success.
