Today we started reading the second big section of Proverbs. Chapters 10-29 are a gathering of wise sayings. This is a collection of proverbs put together in no order or in any significant. So as you read over the next week, take each verse and look closely at it and then move on to the next verse. There are dots to connect in these verses but it could be from chapter to chapter and no verse by verse. Over the next week, I will highlight some of my favorite proverbs from each chapter.
10:26- “As vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes, so re sluggards to those who send them”.
It is not wise to be lazy or wise to associate with a lazy person.
11:22- “Like a gold ring in a pig’s snout, is a beautiful women who shows no discretion”
Just like you cannot dress up a pig, it is the mind and heart of the women that counts.
12:15- “The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice”
You are not that smart, there are always people who know more and are wiser than you.
13:24- “Whoever spares the rod hates their children, but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them”.
If you love your children, discipline them. And this does not mean just yelling them.
