This truth is the same for the church today. Paul calls the church a body with many parts in 1 Corinthians. Each part of the body has a certain job and function to be done. The hand cannot see and the ear cannot eat. But together, each part doing their respective job, gets the whole project accomplished. In the neighborhood around my church there are over 200 homes and statistics say that at least 185 of them are not evangelical. That is a huge mission field and at times when I think about it I get a little overwhelmed. But as I am only part of the body, I must rely on the other parts to join me in doing their part to accomplish the bigger goal. I am not rebuilding a wall, but I am making disciples. So the question is, am I doing my part to accomplish the big picture or am I staring too much at the big picture getting overwhelmed?
