Isaiah 1-4

Yesterday we began reading the book of Isaiah. Over the next two and half months we will read through all of the Old Testament writing prophets. Each prophet shared the Word from God, that He gave them to share. Some of what they share is judgment and a call for repentance. Some of what they share is hope in the future of a blessing from Yahweh. Some prophecy is words from God for that moment. Other prophecy is a foretelling of future events. The book of Isaiah tells a lot about the future coming hope. Some of this future events deals with Jesus and His first coming. Some of the future events deals with Jesus and His second coming. And some still of the future events deal with the eternal blessing of a new heaven and earth. Isaiah and the other prophets saw from God what He wanted them to see but it was peaks and the prophet never saw the valley in between the peak. This can be confusing and as you read through the prophets a good commentary or other help will clear the blending of visions into clearer pictures. To help illustrate this I want to share a picture today that shows how the prophet saw things.
